My Approach

Therapy

​

Many people fear the unknown, which may be why engaging in therapy for the first time is difficult to initiate. 

 

I provide an informed and confidential environment during your initial session (and throughout treatment). 

 

During your first session, we will review my office policies, privacy practices, and your reason(s) for initiating therapy. From there, we will identify your goals and work toward achieving them over time.  

 

The overall duration of therapy varies for each person. 

 

I've worked with individuals who were experiencing interpersonal issues, anxiety, obsessive–compulsive disorder, depression or persistent illness, such as schizophrenia. 

 

I utilize empirically-validated treatments and am focused on individual needs and tailor my treatment to each client.

 

Psychotherapy is tailored to individual needs, as everyone has unique reasons for seeking help, such as depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, or general feelings of unfulfillment. 

 

There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach and psychotherapy is customized accordingly.

Therapeutic Approach

Eclectic: Cognitive behavior therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, IPT therapy, EFT therapy.

Please note that this does not mean I use allinterventions with every client.

During our first few sessions, we will identify your reasons for commencing therapy and develop a treatment plan. 

Interventions will be selected based on your individual needs and goals.

 

My therapeutic approach combines insight-oriented and action-oriented strategies, allowing clients to gain self-awareness while also developing practical coping skills. This balance can be particularly empowering for individuals looking for both understanding and tangible progress.

 

Therapy is a partnership that can help you better understand how your history shapes your present.

We will uncover how your understanding of the past can free you to have more control now, and in the future.

With many years experience in counselling and psychotherapy, I specialise in helping individuals navigate through the uncertainty and distress that may fall upon them. Starting the search for a therapist is the first step in the road to making the changes you have been thinking about.
